I think it is kind of high. But I'm not sure. And is anyone here that is overweight and trying to slim down without much luck? Im doing research on weightloss because I hear of a lot of people who have weight management problems. Thanks for the help.

at are some ethnic differences with regard to body image?

I am 6', large build but quite overweight at 298 lbs. I exercise regularly with free weights and walk regularly (5x per week, brisk pace, >30 min) for cardio and my blood pressure is great but I would love to drop a large number of pounds. I feel as though I am getting my nutrition in order but havfe recently been inspired by a family member who just completed her first marathon and would love to make this a goal for, perhaps, a year from now.

My problem is this - I have never seriously run before. I have tried but quickly lose steam. Any suggestions for building a running regimen for weight loss and exercise - and how to build this up across a year to seriously be able to consider trying a marathon?

Other than teaching kids that models and actors are depicting a false reality and teaching them that its great to be an individual…

I need one more solution.

I'm working on a contemporary performance piece for a talent show, and I'd like to include some poetry. The theme of the piece is celebrating your body, with a focus on plus-sized women. Other than Lucille Clifton's "Homage to my Hips," can anyone think of any poems that have to do with having a positive body image, either as a plus-size woman or a woman in general?

I know there a lot of questions about the Master Cleanse out there, but people's weight losses seem to vary. I wanted to know specifically if any overweight people have tried it, stuck with it, and what their results were. I'm about five pounds overweight myself, and although I'm considering this cleanse for detox alone, it would be nice to shed the extra weight. I know everybody's body reacts to these things differently, but I'm just curious.

Please no lectures telling me to diet and exercise. I already know.

To the first two people who answered: I'm very clear on the benefits of exercise, thanks. Also, I clearly stated that I was using this clease as a mean of detoxing, but that supplemental weight loss would be nice. Please read questions thoroughly before you answer.
