Body Shapes – Nature and Nurture
To understand a little about the modern body shapes of people it is important to understand a little history. First off a lot of a person’s body shape is dictated by genetics. You are somewhat predisposed to have the shape that you do. However, with that said, there are many outside factors that contribute to your body shape and body shaping in general does have a lot to do with nutrition. Since the 1970’s we have literally become a fatter society. The human body is meant to process foods that are natural. If you look back in history to when there were fewer preservatives in food you will see that outside of physical maladies, most people were generally thinner.
During the inflation of the early and mid seventies the United States charged food experts with making food more affordable to the general public. That successfully achieved people began eating more. And, as more and more additives were added into the food chain that the body was never designed to break down, those additives were sequestered to fat cells until they were burned off. Well, in addition to the cheapening of food, add in the slowing down of the nation due to entertainment factors like TV and you have a sedentary public eating far too much of the wrong things.
For every problem there is a solution and one of the solutions to this fattening of society was the physical fitness craze in which body shaping or sculpting was a part of. The truth is no matter what craze you may become a part of in order to reshape your body healthy living is really the best way to do it. Even if you do your best to lose weight or try to re-sculpt your body shape there is only so much you can do and remain healthy. You never want to overdo it that can be dangerous.
Whatever body shape you are, bodies are beautiful and the one thing to always keep in mind is that the most important thing in anyone’s life is to remain as healthy as possible so you may live your life to the fullest. Body shapes are what they are but you can do your part to make sure your body is in the best shape it possible can be in. The rest is out of your immediate control. Your body is beautiful no matter what.
