Even smaller people don't start to show until the second trimester, and just because a woman is overweight, doesn't mean that she wont show when she is supposed to. I'm overweight and I'm 4 months pregnant. I'm starting to look pregnant, whereas I didn't before. So just because you are overweight doesn't mean you don't have a "pregnant" belly by the time the 4th and 5th months arrive. And who says other people need to know anyway? Most people who have a relationship with the pregnant woman will know before they start to show anyway, small or overweight, because they will have already told them. Nobody waits until they start to show anymore... More than likely you would just tell them.
