I was thinking about this today. I think it’s kind of sad when people introduce their kids to bad eating habits when they themselves are overweight or obese. They are setting their kids up for a battle with weight… What do you guys think?

I watched a show on Discovery " The Science of Obesity" in it they stated that only approx. 5% of overweight or obese people were so due to medical reasons ,leaving 95% of the overweight due to over eating and under exercising.

I’m looking for links or stats to support or verify theses numbers.

I take thyroid medicine and it seems that when I started taking thyroid medicine years ago I started putting on weight. Now I am quite a bit overweight. Nothing seems to help. My thyroid has never been regulated right. Doctors just don't seem to pay much attention when I bring this up.

Lately she's been saying she needs to go on a diet, etc. She always comments about her thighs..I think she's doing this because me and my sister (her mom) are trying to lose some pounds to get to a healthy weight. Any help is appreciated, thanks
